Presented by the Young Architects Forum (YAF), a committee of AIA Kansas City.

The Young Architects Forum invites artists and designers to submit original artwork to be featured in the 2026 New Grad Welcome Package. This competition is open to AIA, Assoc. AIA, and students.

Submissions will be selected anonymously by a panel of judges.

Entry Requirements:

• Interpret the theme: KC Icons Reimagined.
• Must be legible and fit within a 2-inch x 2-inch square or have a maximum total area of 4 square inches, regardless of shape.
• Your design may consist of imagery, typography, or a combination of both.
• Do not incorporate the AIA logo.
• The submission file can be sent in raster (min. 300 DPI) or vector format: JPEG, PNG, AI, EPS, or PDF are acceptable.
• NO ENTRY FEE!

Judging Criteria:

• Creativity & Originality – Unique and engaging design.
• Interpretation of the Theme
• Legibility & Scalability – Effective within the given size constraints.

Prizes:

• First Place: Your design will be featured on the mug included in the New Grad Welcome Package. 
• Second Place: Your design will be printed as a sticker to be included in the package.
• Both winners will be:
  • Credited in the AIA Kansas City Building Blocks Newsletter
  • Posted on the AIA Kansas City, YAF committee page
  • Recognized in the New Grad Package letter
  • Provided with copies of the winning designs
