COTE: Hand & Mind - The Sustainable Work of KU's Studio 804

4:30 PM
Populous | 1400 Baltimore Ave, #1300 Kansas City, MO 64105 Map

The AIA Kansas City Committee on the Environment (COTE) cordially invites you to join us on November 12 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to celebrate the establishment of our new local committee within the COTE Network.

Dan Rockhill, University of Kansas professor and founder of the award-winning Studio 804, will be our guest lecturer for the evening. Rockhill will present a lecture, Hand and Mind: The Sustainable Work of KU’s Studio 804. He will share his experience with engaging student designers in the execution of sustainable strategies. Following the lecture, please stay for beverages and networking.

Populous will host the event at their new offices at 1400 Baltimore. An (earth) friendly reminder – utilizing the expanded streetcar line or bicycle is a climate positive way to join in on the fun.

COTE supports numerous resources and initiatives that integrate climate action into the institution of the AIA and the practice of its membership. Our initiatives in Kansas City include this lecture series on emerging topics in sustainability, AIA 2030 educational events, COTE KC channel (coming soon!), and the integration of AIA Framework for Design Excellence into the local awards process. Opportunities for getting involved in the committee will be discussed at the event.

This program is worth 1 HSW.
