Perkins&Will chose to locate our Kansas City studio in the heart of the Crossroads Arts District to contribute to the energy, vitality and economics of this incredible neighborhood.  Our windows open for trombone practice or a Fat Tuesday parade.  Our neighbors are friendly faces in the design and construction industry.  We are grateful for Shirley Helzberg's vision to restore the Vitagraph building with its film-row heritage.  We were pleased to find that this was one of the only LEED Certified, all-electric, water efficient buildings in the Downtown loop that would align with our mission and mandate to decarbonize our properties and leases and improve our global impact report each year.  This interior space was designed to comply with LBC Core requirements and is seeking certification.  Enjoy biophilic design, Red List free materials, protected air quality, daylight & dimming, our connection to the outdoors, our proximity to human powered transport,  and be sure to participate in our compost program through KC Can Compost.  Our team is attracted like Monarchs,  and native bees to the patch of native plants on our green roof, and we enjoy our bird's eye view of the historic Webster School and the Kauffman Performing Arts Center.
