AIA Chapter Events > Special EventsCfAD: You said what? Best practices in Workplace Communications
12:00 PM
BRR Architecture | 8131 Metcalf Ave #300 Overland Park, KS 66204 Map
Communication is a two-way street, and to be an successful team member at a firm, part of your responsibility is to develop effective communication skills. And moving from the college environment to a workplace environment requires an adjustment in how, when and where you communicate with your peers, your supervisor and even your clients. Why? Because we now live in a world where 3-4 generations are in the workplace, and everyone seems to communicate a bit differently. In this session, we’ll arm you with the tools you’ll need to communicate effectively, as developing this skill will help you both professionally and personally.
In this session, we’ll explore a few big topics:
• Identifying your personal communications style
• Do’s and don’ts of email, instant messaging, text messaging
• Social media, now that you’re a professional
• Tackling face-to-face conversations
Register now; Seats are limited!
This session is designed for early-career professionals.
