We look forward to seeing you at our next installment of Cocktails & Conversations hosted by HOK.

HOK's renovated Kansas City studio provides a variety of bespoke settings to support community connections, hybrid work, employee well-being and branding. Come check it out!

Local connections

Located in a historic warehouse in the city's Crossroads Arts District, the studio embraces the industrial vibe of the neighborhood with exposed brick walls and polished concrete floors. A new entrance experience allows passersby and visitors to view into the heart of the workspace. Rotating artwork provided by the Kansas City Artist Coalition celebrates the city's creative energy and further connects the studio to the community.

Hybrid work functionality

Designed during the pandemic, the new studio supports hybrid work in multiple ways. Embedded technology makes it easier to work anywhere, book meeting rooms and hold video calls with clients and remote colleagues. Staff can choose to work from various work settings within the studio, including collaborative and quiet zones and unassigned and assigned desking. Residential-inspired furniture, lounges and communal dining areas provide staff with places to unwind and socialize.

Health + well-being

The Kansas City studio promotes employee health and well-being. New moms can take advantage of a private mother's suite, and all staff have access to wellness rooms for quiet meditation and reflection. Extensive daylighting fills the studio with natural light. Biophilic design elements, including live plantings, natural materials and organic patterns, connect staff to the healing and therapeutic power of nature.

Branding + creativity

The new studio highlights HOK's brand and creativity. Reclaimed wood from the old studio is repurposed throughout the office as conference tables and architectural accents, such as a pegboard display wall for showcasing HOK project images. New pin-up boards throughout the office allow design teams to share their latest ideas.
