BIM Manager

BRR Architecture, an award-winning national firm, is pursuing a BIM Subject Matter Expert with the ability to trouble shoot BIM software problems and assist users in the application of the technology to meet the project requirements.

Accountabilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of BIM on new projects
  • Manage Autodesk licenses, deployments and annual software renewals
  • Assist with client-specific BIM Execution Plans and with defining the BIM scope per project
  • Assist in the review of BIM and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) contracts
  • Implement company/client BIM Standards and best modeling practices on projects
  • Build Revit families for Revit projects and maintain BRR’s library of Revit content
  • Provide Revit training to BRR staff as needed
  • Assist non-technical staff with BIM and how it integrates with BRR processes
  • Perform quality control reviews of design models
  • Research new trends and emerging technologies in the industry
  • Participate in user groups for BIM related software
    Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction, Architecture, or related field including 3 to 5 years of hands-on BIM experience with proficiency in Autodesk, Revit Architecture, and other BIM related-applications
  • Strong understanding of the organization of construction documents and drafting standards
  • Management and communication skills required to organize a diverse team and direct them, through consensus, towards project success
  • Comfortable working with Excel to create client reports and other deliverables
  • Background or industry experience in one of the MEP disciplines is a plus
  • Ability to write API, and other automation programs is a plus

Project Architect

Architect – MHDC

Description: This position reviews construction or alteration of building facility documents for conformance with building codes and accessibility laws, inspects properties receiving funding from MHDC to determine the level of project completion.

Essential Job Duties: To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each of the following essential duties successfully. Reasonable accommodations will be made to disabled individuals.

• Review and approve construction or rehabilitation documents for conformance with building codes and compliance with accessibility laws.
• Read architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical plans, diagrams, specifications, and shop drawing submittals to determine code compliance and percentage of completion.
• Inspect housing projects during construction and modification to ensure compliance with building codes, ADA and MHDC requirements, and to determine the level of completion.
• Conduct pre-construction conferences for properties receiving MHDC funding to ensure owner, contractor, architect, and subcontractors are aware of all applicable federal and state requirements during the construction process.
• Conduct periodic and routine construction/rehabilitation inspections of properties receiving MHDC funding.
• Review and approve AIA documents related to disbursement of construction funds.
• Evaluate firm commitment construction documents for compliance with building codes, federal accessibility laws, and MHDC requirements.
• Check shop drawings for compliance with applicable laws and standards.
• Confer with consulting architects, engineers, and with administration, and heads of departments or institutions on construction projects.
• Inspect physical condition of occupied housing developments.
• Review applications for Low Income Housing Tax Credits, HOME fund, MHDC Fund Balance, and Missouri Trust Funds.
• Visit development sites of proposed construction.
• Perform final completion inspections to establish escrow for incomplete items and to establish completion of all punch list items.
• Establish final completion and latent defect periods of all developments, as applicable.
• Execute warranty inspections as required.
• Establish with supervisor and other senior staff, MHDC guidelines and policies.
• Prepare progress reports and keeps superiors informed as to the status of projects.
• Provide critical input to the strategic and programmatic issues of the assigned areas.
• Furnish reports of deficiencies observed during inspections.

Two years of professional experience in the field of architecture; and graduation from a college or university accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board, with a Bachelor’s degree in architecture, architectural engineering, environmental design, building technology or a closely related field. (A Master’s degree in any of the above listed fields may be substituted for the required two years of experience.)
