Zoom Virtual Meeting | Online Kansas City, MO 64108 Map
This will be a VIRTUAL program held on Zoom. Log in information will be emailed to attendees two days before the program.
Frustrated by the contractor value engineering your design from a project? Most designers discourage their clients from including a contractor partner until the last possible moment as the concern is design will be sacrificed and you end up with a boring box. Join JE Dunn's National Director of Preconstruction Jason Hickam and Preconstruction Director Toby Tatum on a discussion about Target Value Design.
Throw-it-over-the-wall design performed by specialists and sub-specialists working in isolation from others interacting with the design results in projects that are unaffordable, unconstructable, off-target and late. Rework, repricing, change orders, and de-value engineering are all symptoms of a process that ignores the nature of design and the systems nature of the built environment.
Target-Value Design (TVD) turns the current design practice upside-down. TVD offers designers an opportunity to engage in the design conversation concurrently with the people who will procure services and execute the design.
This program is worth 1 LU . You must attend the full session in order to get AIA credit. If you leave the Zoom meeting early, no credit will be reported.
