Virtual Nooniversity: Stewardship of the built environment – Using Quantitative Data to Drive Design

12:00 PM
Zoom Virtual Meeting | Online Kansas City, MO 64108 Map

This will be a VIRTUAL program held on Zoom.  Log in information will be emailed to attendees two days before the program.

Join Olsson for this program on quantitative data.

As humans, our interactions and expectations within the built environment is ever changing. Building owners and building tenants are constantly attempting to assess their needs and impacts within the built environment. Clients looking to lease spaces, and clients who are developing buildings are asking questions such as, “How do we use our space?”, “How much space do I need?”, “How can I make my property more market competitive?”, and “Is there an easy way to lower my utility costs?” If this information exists within an organization or property, it is certainly not easily accessed or deciphered, so many of these questions are left to be answered qualitatively or anecdotally instead of being rooted in actual data.

Moving beyond the financial aspects, lies a deeper level of questions, “How can I be a good steward of the built environment?”, “How can we minimize our environmental footprint?”, and “How can I create highly functional spaces that truly work for my people?”. These questions may deviate slightly from the quantitative towards the qualitative but having additional data will better inform how business use their spaces moving forward leading to increased opportunities to reduce footprint and environmental impacts.

This program will discuss how buildings are currently used with the goal of providing quick, timely, and real time data to reduce operating costs, increase usage efficiencies (both from a square footage and energy perspective), provide highly marketable spaces, and only use the natural resources that we truly need.

This program is worth 1 LU .  You must attend the full session in order to get AIA credit.  If you leave the Zoom meeting early, no credit will be reported.
