Join Woodworks - Wood Products Council for this program on wood's role in building certification.

Green building rating systems provide a means of benchmarking a project’s use, implementation of green construction strategies, and relevant outcomes and impacts. Compliance is typically voluntary, pursued by developers and building owners who find value in certifying their buildings. There are many types of green building rating systems, and they don’t all consider the same performance metrics. Some are focused on single attributes (e.g., water or energy use) while others include multi-attribute analysis. This presentation explores several of the most common certification systems, including LEED, Green Globes and the Living Building Challenge. It answers questions such as: What is the purpose of green building rating systems and how do they vary; how can wood products be used to gain points and credits within these systems; and what tools are available to designers looking to perform analyses such as carbon accounting and life cycle assessment (LCA), which may result in credits for wood’s use?

This program is worth 1 HSW .  You must attend the full session in order to get AIA credit.  If you leave the Zoom meeting early, no credit will be reported.
