Nooniversity:Survival Skills for a Fast-Track World

12:00 PM
Center for Architecture & Design | 1801 McGee, Suite 100 Kansas City, MO 64108 Map

Join Brent Bonham with Stand Structural Engineers for this program on fast-track projects.

Successfully delivering fast-track projects and keeping your client happy can be a very challenging task facing the design professional today.

The backbone of fast-track projects includes the early release of packages prior to the completion of the rest of the design, which inherently creates additional challenges, may increase cost uncertainty, and requires additional strategy at the start of a project.

During this session we will examine a few lessons-learned from past projects, with a focus on the early structural packages, and share some suggested best practices for the design / construction team to consider on their next project.  These include important Owner conversations, developing a clear roadmap for the AEC team to navigate the project delivery efficiently, integrating current technologies to enhance the delivery process, and considering alternative bidding strategies to improve negotiations of fair value.

Many of the same tenets of fast-track projects can also be applied to improve coordination and execution of projects of any scale or delivery type.

At the end of the presentation, you should walk away with some additional tools in your toolbox that allows you to approach these projects with more confidence, some fresh ideas, and will hopefully operate with a little less stress in a fast-track world.

This program is worth 1 LU and lunch will be provided.
