ARCHITECT | Apps for architects
Several new architecture apps take us inside great homes such as Richard Neutra’s VDL Studio and Residences, Pierre Koenig’s Case Study House #22, and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater. The latter two are the work of in-D media, a California-based company founded by Timothy Sakamoto, a licensed architect who created the apps with his business partner, Jochen Repolust. In this interview with the New York Times’s Steven Kurutz, he talks about the burgeoning field of i-architecture, the intimacy of apps as opposed to videos, and a potential forthcoming app that will transport users inside Taliesin West.
