AIA Kansas City Volunteer Request | KIPP Endeavor Academy

AIA Kansas City members who are interested in urban education and who want to serve in a volunteer or leadership role are encouraged to explore opportunities at KIPP Endeavor Academy. KIPP is located at 2700 E. 18th Street in Kansas City, MO and enrolls nearly 200 students in grades 5 through 8. It is a free public charter school.

KIPP Academy’s board president approached AIA Kansas City recently to look for opportunities to connect our members with their students and staff. There are three great opportunities for AIA Kansas City members to lend their expertise in creative problem solving as well as to inspire and influence the next generation of architects:
1. Serve on the board of directors of KIPP Endeavor Academy: they anticipate one or two vacancies on the board later this summer.
2. Serve on the newly created Site Development Team to explore expanding or relocating this growing school; work begins this summer.
3. Develop an after-school club to learn about architecture and careers in architecture and design; work could begin anytime.

Please contact me directly for more information and I can put you in touch with Anthony Williams, KIPP board president.
