Join AIA Kansas City for our June Cocktails & Conversations. This month’s event will be held in conjunction with the Design Spectrum Series in partnership with The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and AIGA Kansas City.
The third installment of this series:
Peter Exley Takes Fun Seriously.
Peter Exley, FAIA, elevates the standards of design for learning and play environments. His studio, Architecture is Fun, Inc., collaborates internationally with museums, parks, learning facilities and entertainment attractions to create meaningful and relevant play for children, families and communities.
Peter is an architect, AIA President, professor, artist, author, and parent. He uses teaching as a living laboratory vital to the firm’s methodology of educative design, sharing passion and practice with students and young architects.
As a champion of childhood, Peter creates archetypical learning environments and architecture for children that are recognized for fun, education, accessibility, play and family interaction that they provide. Through his practice, Peter nurtures a consciousness of design as a lifelong expectation and pursuit.
Architecture is Fun received the HUE Award from Benjamin Moore. Listen to Sharon and Peter Exley chat about heroic materials, interior architecture, design, the intersection of art and science and more.
