360 Architecture is a highly diverse design firm with projects ranging in size and scope from master planning to furniture design, from work place to sports stadiums.
In every detail of our business, design is our common thread. We believe design is an equal combination of luck, intuition, and the rigor to search for the unexpected. We focus on the whole. We focus on the smallest of details. We find meaning and reason in our design. We seek the next. We create fun. We bend the traditions of our profession. We carve new lines of design opportunity, searching for future connections and building stronger relationships thru creativity. We respect our abilities with a humbleness that is contagious.

The Lean Construction Institute Kansas City Community of Practice will present a panel discussion at the AIA office on Thursday, September 13, 2012. Lean Construction is a production management-based approach to project delivery — a new way to design and build capital facilities. Lean production management has caused a revolution in manufacturing design, supply and assembly. Applied to construction, Lean changes the way work is done throughout the delivery process. Lean Construction extends from the objectives of a lean production system – maximize value and minimize waste – to specific techniques and applies them in a new project delivery process.

The reliable release of work between specialists in design, supply and assembly assures value is delivered to the customer and waste is reduced. Particularly useful on complex, uncertain and quick projects, it challenges the belief that there must always be a trade between time, cost, and quality

Please join panelists from local design and construction firms as they discuss the concepts of Lean Construction and it’s integration into the design process.

This program is worth 1 HSW and lunch will be provided.
