Founder, CEO and Chief Creative Officer of DIGITALKITCHEN, Matthaeus started DK as the digital studio for the advertising agency he founded in 1992. With a background in photography, filmmaking and production– as well as 16 years in the advertising agency business– Matthaeus chartered DIGITALKITCHEN to cultivate and advance broader experimentation and creativity in full-motion electronic branded content, leveraged with an uncommon faculty for strategic brand marketing.

Matthaeus is probably best known for his creative approach in television entertainment- which includes the opening creative direction for Six Feet Under, Nip / Tuck, House, Rescue Me, Ghost Whisperer, The Path to 9/11, The Company and Dexter. His latest contribution was in the creation of the opening sequence for True Blood, the highly anticipated HBO series that broke this Fall by Oscar-winning creator/writer/director Alan Ball.

In 2001, DIGITALKITCHEN was voted best by the Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP), and in 2002 won the Emmy at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. In the last 5 years, DIGITALKITCHEN has been nominated for more Emmys than of any company of their kind.
