Join Women in Design on November 13 at 5:30pm for the 7th segment of the 2018 Women's Leadership Series featuring Amber Beverlin, AIA, Principal at DLR Group and Emily Tilgner, PE, Director of Engineering Services at McCownGordon Construction.
 

Amber Beverlin
Amber serves a dual role as client leader and project manager, a role that allows her to stay connected to clients throughout the duration of projects to ensure the final design solution meets the needs of all users. She serves K-12 Education clients and communities in Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, and Oklahoma.

In addition to managing new construction projects, Amber proficiently leads significant renovations and additions on campuses with continuous operation of the school during construction. Under Amber’s leadership, design teams for Central High School and Salina South High Schools in Salina, Kansas transformed existing facilities into flexible, adaptable, and collaborative environments to engage learners. Amber also was a key member of the design team for the Fayetteville High School renovation, a project that spanned 36 months and restructured the existing high school into a small learning community model.

Emily Tilgner
Emily Tilgner has 15 years of experience in design and construction and has worked on a variety of projects from coast to coast. Her background is rooted in mechanical engineering with a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in Architectural Engineering. Those skills mixed with her ability to connect on a personal level has served her well in her many roles on both the design and the construction sides of the business.  She has strong technical expertise in the corporate, educational, civic, religious and commercial sectors,  and she has an exceptional understanding of sustainable and efficient design.  Her most notable projects include Black and Veatch World Headquarters renovation and addition, Lexmark office towers, Walton Arts Center renovation and addition, Fort Lewis College Student Union, and Westport Presbyterian Church.
