SCUP 2017 North Central Symposium: Creating Momentum: Strategies for Innovative Integral Planning Program

8:00 AM
KU Edwards Campus | 12600 S Quivira Road Overland Park, KS 66213 Map

Creating momentum in the integral planning process is one of the biggest challenges every institution―regardless of size or focus―is facing. Developing an innovative approach that incorporates all key issues of demand, quality, schedule, and funding into actionable and achievable steps is the ultimate goal. Today, with access to new technologies, advanced data analytics, and new approaches to planning processes, campuses have innovative ways to create innovative plans that inherently build momentum to achieve strategic integral solutions.

This one-day program will feature speakers sharing new ideas about integrated process and the results of their strategic capital planning programs. They will provide insight into the initiation, integration, and inclusive nature of creating successful long-range plans that span the traditional silos of the institution. The event will take place in the KU Edwards Campus BEST Building.

Our featured keynote speaker, Nancy Sturm, will speak on aspects of disruption that are impacting campuses nationwide. Sturm is a nationally recognized thought leader and award-winning educator who brings over 20 years of experience in virtual learning, simulation environments, and faculty development. With a lifelong calling to motivate students, coach teachers, and create transformative learning environments, Sturm's programs and techniques enable teachers to use classroom technology effectively to maximize student success.

This program will feature speakers from Metropolitan Community College (Omaha), University of Iowa, University of Missouri Kansas City, University of Nebraska, University of Kansas, University of Kansas Edwards, and Washington University in St. Louis.

The program will conclude with tours of the recently completed projects on the KU Edwards and Johnson County Community College campuses.
