Center Presents: Designing With Urban Wood: A Practical Guide To Help Your Client Tell a Story & Save The Planet

8:30 AM
Discovery Center | 4750 Troost Ave Kansas City, MO 64110 Map

Incorporating “urban” wood into a design project can help set your client apart from the crowd by telling a unique story with ecological significance. At this event, learn more about what urban wood is and where to get it, how it can tell a powerful story for your client, and how to successfully spec it into your next indoor or outdoor design project. Watch firsthand how a tree goes from log to lumber with on-site sawmill demonstrations by the Kansas Forest Service and Missouri Department of Conservation.

*This event is the first session in a 2-part seminar about urban lumber. The second session, from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., will bring together local governments, sawyers and conservation specialists to examine the creation of a local urban lumber network. Attendees can sign up to attend one or both sessions during registration.
