BEC: Understanding Below-grade Waterproofing

The Building Enclosure Council of Kansas City is pleased to announce our next session on August 22nd.  We will be gathering at 6pm with the presentation starting shortly afterwards.  Please note that the session will be located at The Center for Architecture and Design at 1801 McGee on the first level. 

Our guest speaker will be David Ford of Walter P. Moore.

The session will focus on: Understanding Below-grade Waterproofing  

This session will focus on the following:

The presentation will review the fundamentals and considerations for designing below-grade waterproofing systems for deep foundations and basements. The pros and cons of different waterproofing materials, components, and systems will be discussed. We will also go through common waterproofing details and design strategies. A case study from a major deep foundation waterproofing project (with active groundwater) will be presented to show how the design changed from design development to construction documents, to construction administration.

The Session is open to all trades and professions related to building design, construction, maintenance and property management.
