Art Farm Red Shed
Both artwork and design work produced at [institution name] tackle the multiple histories of objects (buildings),
reinterpret them, give them new life and new narratives. As part of a strategy for the sustainable development, the
reuse of existing materials often involves a radical juxtaposition of new and old forms. The Red Shed is
representative of this process and the shared attitude towards objects that emerges from diverse practices at
[institution name]. In 2007 the architects remodeled a utility shed to become a center for New Media. We temporarily
installed this structure at an art museum in Lincoln, Nebraska as a focal point of an exhibition of our work for
[institution name]. The Shed is now functions as a video gallery and a workspace for new media artists. However, the
structure is now mobile; it can be relocated anywhere on the 40-acre site simply by dragging it with a tractor.
